Welcome to a workshop on teaching and learning with the Centre for the Advancement of University Teaching (CeUL).

Who is the workshop for?

Teachers, course leaders and staff at Stockholm University involved in teaching of students.

About the workshop

In this workshop, we will discuss the ethical considerations when introducing AI tools in higher education and how to mitigate potential harms. In particular, we will use state-of-the-art AI tools as prompts to unpack the potential benefits and harms when used in the context of higher education. If you have any suggestions and preferences of tools you would like to focus on you may contact the workshop leader the latest 2 weeks before the workshop and we will try to add that tool.

Workshop Outline

  • Brief presentation of the selected tools as cases for analysis
  • Overview of ethical principles and guidelines relevant to AI in education
  • Case studies of AI tools in use
  • Strategies for mitigating the risks
  • Practical considerations for implementing AI tools in higher education

The workshop will be delivered through a combination of presentations, group discussions, and case studies. Emphasis will be on encouraging participants to share their experiences and perspectives and to actively engage in critical thinking and reflection on the ethical considerations of AI in higher education.
