Requirements for teacher mobility

Grants for teaching abroad will be available to instructors (with priority for teachers, but
post-docs and advanced doctoral students may also apply). For this call, only the following three universities are included:

  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA
  • Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia
  • St. Petersburg State University, Russia.

Additional requirements

Minimum 5 days, maximum 14 days.
Minimum of 8 hours of instruction per week and at least 1,6 hours p/d for shorter weeks. Instructor is to be physically present, "e-tutoring" is not acceptable.
Approved teaching includes all types of instruction of students on undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, including lectures, seminars, individual tutoring and testing.
The applicant must be employed at Stockholm University. Separate funding is available for teachers with a disability.

Application

Complete the form "STAFF MOBILITY FOR TEACHING – MOBILITY AGREEMENT ICM" (see below), and email submit it no later than 15 April 2016 toregistrator@su.se, including the registration number SU FV-6.1.1-4032-15. Results will be announced no later than 30/4.

Selection process

Priority among the applications received will be made based upon the motivation for the teacher mobility as expressed under point II, "Description of Mobility". Furthermore, selection will focus on an applicant's written description of the following aspects:

  • insures that their teaching participation is integrated into the learning plan for a particular course at the host university
  • leads to the development of new instructional materials
  • is used to strengthen and enlarge contacts and cooperation between departments and faculties, including preparations for future cooperation projects.

Important deadlines

  • 15 April 2016 – Application deadline
  • 30 April 2016 – Notification of Application Results
  • 15 October 2016 – Teacher exchange must be completed by this date.
  • 1 November 2016  – Last day for payouts from Student Services. Payouts will only be made after a proper final report and an internal invoice (IFP 97), have been received!

Financing

The Erasmus grant is a flat fee paid directly to the department: 1515 SEK (160 EUR) per day for up to 14 days. In addition a travel grant is paid: For Russia 2605 SEK, for USA 7767 SEK.

Payment

Upon completion of the teaching exchange, complete a travel report (Primula) to your department. Any expenses you have made will be reimbursed in your coming wage according to the applicable rules for payments at Stockholm University. Request that your departmental Financial Officer submit an internal invoice (IFP 97) to Elenor Nyman at Student Services (Inst. 670). Note: no costs are paid directly to participants.

Insurance

Employees of Stockholm University are covered by the Swedish State Business Travel Insurance through Kammarkollegiet. A travel insurance card can be obtained at your department.
