The role of oil is at the center of local and global debates. The need to imagine the end of the "oil era" in order to imagine post-fossil alternatives has generated artistic and creative responses exploring the influence of oil in territorial, cultural, and political imaginaries. Discussants Ana Alenso (Venezuelan artist) and Gianfranco Selgas (PhD candidate in Latin American literature and culture) will comment on Venezuela, petro-cultures, and the Orinoco Mining Arc. The event is organized by the Geography Institute of the University of Buenos Aires and will take place online on November 23, at 21:00 (Stockholm time) here. (The event will be conducted in Spanish. Questions in Portuguese and English are welcomed).
