The new Higher Education Institutions (HEI) agreement has been in force since Januari 1. The agreement has been reached between Bonus Copyright Access and SUHF (The Association of Swedish Higher Education). All HEIs in Sweden have agreements with Bonus Copyright Access.

Copy and share copyright protected material for education

The new Agreement for Higher Education Institutions entered into force January 1, 2014. The agreement enables entirely new possibilities to copy and share copyright protected material for teaching, among other things significantly enhanced facilities to copy and share digitally.

Teachers and students may copy and share

The agreement allows teachers and students to copy and share copyright protected material from Swedish and non-Swedish pictures, text and musical notation that have been made public, from for example books, teaching materials, the press, digital publications, websites etc.

Analogue and digital copying and sharing

Teachers and students may make copies and share digitally and analogue by:

  • Downloading
  • Print
  • Scanning
  • Photocopying
  • Reproducing for slide presentation for educational purposes, e.g. PowerPoint
  • Saving copies in digital form, e.g. on the HEI’s closed network, on USB
  • Transferring digital copies, e.g. by mail or via the HEI’s closed network
  • Making mailings within a teaching group
  • Projecting and displaying on screen
  • Distributing photocopies and printouts
